Welcome to the web site of the Mississippi Law Institute. MLI is now under the stewardship of Mississippi College School of Law, but that was not always the case. Throughout the second half of the twentieth century, MLI was guided by young lawyers in the Jackson area, many of whom were destined to become highly-respected attorneys and judges. Our goal for MLI at Mississippi College is to maintain the tradition established by these outstanding men and women by pursuing MLI activities in a manner that will serve the profession and elevate the practice of law in our State.

Initially, at least, producing relevant, high-quality publications is the principal objective for MLI. Because we will be providing useful information on legal topics to a broader audience than our student body, we envision the Mississippi Law Institute as a very important extension of our mission at Mississippi College. Incidentally, since MLI's exclusive function is to serve Mississippi practitioners, we are anxious for your input. Please let us know whether MLI publications are helpful to you and what type of resources you would like to see published by MLI in the future. Perhaps it goes without saying, but we would also welcome manuscripts or ideas for publications from any potential contributors.

Again, thank you for visiting our web site. We hope that MLI will have something of value to offer you.
