The Mississippi College School of Law Library provides access to materials not located within the Mississippi College library system through its Interlibrary Loan service.  To request a book loan, download the form below and email it to Emily Lindsay

AVAILABILITY

This service is available to current faculty, staff and students of Mississippi College School of Law. Other members of the Mississippi College community may request materials through the Interlibrary Loan Department of the Speed Library in Clinton.

COST

Interlibrary Loan service is provided free of charge as long as the request is not unreasonably costly to the Library. The patron is responsible for any lending, overdue, lost or damaged book fines assessed by the lending library.

TIME FRAME

There is no way to know how long it will take to receive a requested item. A few days to a month may be required to obtain materials. Patrons can check the status of requests by contacting the Interlibrary Loan Librarian at (601) 925-7120 or by sending a note to Emily Lindsay. Once we receive the item, we will notify you by email or telephone.

REQUEST PROCESS

Before submitting a request, check the library online catalog to see if the item is owned by the Law Library or Speed Library. If the item is an article, also search appropriate online databases (such as Lexis, Westlaw, HeinOnline and sources available at Speed Library) for availability.

PICK UP AND RETURN OF ILL’S

Some materials may be delivered to you electronically. All other materials obtained through Interlibrary Loan are to be picked up at and returned to the Law Library Circulation Desk.

LOAN PERIODS AND RENEWALS

The lending institution sets the loan period and other conditions. Items are due on the date written on the book strap; however if the lending library recalls an item, it must be returned immediately to the Law Library. Renewals may be requested before the due date by contacting the Research and Instructional Services Librarian at (601) 925-7120 or by sending an email to Emily Lindsay.
