In addition to federal loans, you may wish to use certain private loans. Private loan programs are available to help those students whose financial needs are not fully met by federal loans and academic scholarships. Private loans are limited to the COA, less other aid, and/or particular lender maximums. MCSOL currently participates in the private loan programs of seven particular lenders:

Bar Loans

Private loans are made on the basis of your (and, in certain cases, the co-applicant's) credit history. If your credit is poor, it is quite possible that you will not qualify for any private loans. If you are considering a private loan we strongly advise you to review a copy of your credit history. This review may alert you to a problem of which you are unaware and provide an opportunity to resolve such problem before submitting a loan application. To obtain a credit history, contact the following credit agencies. In some cases, there may be a nominal charge.

Equifax: 1-800-685-1111 Trans Union: 1-800-888-4213
Experian (formerly TRW): 1-800-682-7654

Be Wise:
The Financial Aid Office at Mississippi College School of Law strongly encourages prospective and current students to minimize borrowing. The burden of debt significantly influences the choices students make regarding permanent employment after graduation.
