International & Comparative Law

Examine transnational legal regulation in relation to economics, politics, religion, and society.

Study The Complexities of International and Comparative Law at MC.

The International and Comparative Law Center, established in 2011, broadly examines transnational legal regulation in relation to economics, politics, religion, human rights, and society. The research agenda of the Center is aimed to foster an interdisciplinary, research-based forum for collaboration and student opportunities to address the growing challenges facing contemporary global governance. The Center works with the International Law Student Association to organize regular events and support research projects, and also assists in coordinating MC Law’s Summer Abroad program.

In the last two years the Center has supported several initiatives including:

  • Guest lectures by field-leading experts in topics including Investor-State Arbitration, International Human Rights Law, Military Justice, International Business Transactions, and International Criminal Law
  • Study abroad programs in Germany, France, South Korea, Mexico, and Cuba
  • An MC Law faculty member who presented oral argument at the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague
  • An MC Law faculty member selected for a high-level dialogue with Chinese legal officials about international humanitarian law
  • A comparative law symposium featuring law professors from India and MC Law
